A new neutral lightweight racer trainer from Asics. According to their blurb, they give you a new way of running, your legs feeling closer to the ground with a low mid sole and 4mm heel drop. Promoting a more natural running style. With Fluid Axis technology your foot has never had it so good!
What all that means I am not sure, how it translates to me your average Joe Jogger, read on.
Firstly I like my footwear to look good. One box ticked.
I am a size 7, I would say these are true to size (slightly smaller than my usual brand of trainers).Foot feels snug, laces are easy to do not too tight not too loose. Springy and your foot feels like it moves very naturally. With a good heel to toe transition. Giving you a good push off for your next stride. I felt because they were light and springy they helped stop one of my problems. Which is striking the floor too early and hitting hard on my heel. They promote a natural almost barefoot strike, but with good protection and support.
Road Test
I always do a few strides outside before I set off. Wow I felt tired when going out the door that soon changed. I felt like I wanted to race. A good sign then, as I normally avoid races.
Certainly they are lightweight, I would say ideal for fast runs, races. Because they feel like a racer I would not wear them everyday. I like my easy days! After a dozen runs I would recommend them for anyone who does a lot of faster work. Or as a racing shoe.
Summary.
A well rounded lightweight racer trainer. Giving a natural feel and great protection. Highly recommended.
Score.
