Going Out Out : Over 40 Style..

Happy Thursday friends.

How is your week so far?

It was my birthday last Friday. Yep, another year older and all that!! Getting older now day's don't feel that much fun though. No like when you are younger. I felt sad for some reason all day. Ha!!

Thankfully me and Mollie had a good few hours walk in the park to have some me time and blow away my worries, it was so windy!

Going out with the family on Friday was just what I needed. Pity my eldest two sons are studying hard at Uni and did not come home for my birthday this year. We can all get together and go out in the Summer though. That will be lovely.

What better reason to get dressed up and go out for a meal!? Going out, out.

I love Polka dots and my husband brought me two new dresses. This blue and white small print polka dot dress and a beautiful red one with larger white polka dots on them. Love them both!

I was going to team this dress up with a red belt and red heels but as we were walking into town I teamed it up with white flat sandals and a pink belt to match my pink lipstick.

I went for a size larger than my usual size on the dresses as the wardrobe fairies have shrunk all my clothes! Not much fun in your 40's where you look at a cake and it jumps right onto your hips!

At the minute I am trying to be healthier and so I can get back into most of my clothes. I am just about to go on our morning walk with Mollie and plan some healthy eating and exercise for the rest of the day.

What I Wore: New dress: Amazon | Pink belt: Primark | Sandals: co New Look

We had a walk into town with the youngest two children for a few drinks and something to eat. I had the nachos. They were so yummy! My daughter had these too. They were supposed to be the sharing meals but we both had a full one each!!

The hot chilli was fun! They burned like mad and my son didn't believe me so had to try one out for himself!! Nothing wrong with these, he said. Then rushed for a drink! They were burning!! I told you not to try one son!

All in all, it was a fun night with lots of laughter.

I had a few cheeky beers and a glass of red wine. Boy did I suffer in the morning from a headache!! I can not drink much now I am older too. A Parkrun was just what I needed to blow the cobwebs away.
