Back To School With Ecco Shoes...

Most school children have now broken up for the big Summer holidays. I am already getting organised for next term, starting by getting uniform ready for Back To School. Go me!!

It makes a nice change getting a uniform plan in place at the start of the holidays. Gone are the days where I leave buying the new uniform to the last few days. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. (Or not as they have sold out by September!!)

I like to be more organised nowadays so I do not get myself all stressed out. Over the past 18 years of buying school uniform, I have made every rookie mistake going. Buying too early, then the children growing over the Summer. Rushing around like a headless chicken the day before school starts for that elusive tie. The new method, a little bit each week, finally gives me a stress-free Summer.

A few weeks ago I was kindly asked to take part in the #ECCOBacktoSchool Campaign with ECCO.

The project is all about the family ritual of shopping for brand new school shoes and the importance of this exciting milestone.

My Daughter and I love nothing more than looking for and buying new shoes!! She takes after me, with her love of shoes.

First, we looked on the Ecco website to see what kind of shoes we like.

A nice quality pair of back to school shoes for my Daughter: Check ✅.

A nice and comfortable pair of walking shoes for me: check ✅.

On Sunday my Daughter and I had a fun girly shopping trip to Nottingham. We had lots of fun together with lots of laughter and enjoyed looking round all the shops.

Whilst we were in Town we popped into Ecco and had a look in the store, checking out their full range of shoes. They have some lovely shoes in here, with some great priced shoes on sale too... When I am in a shoe shop and there is a sale on, I spend ages imagining a new outfit to go with each pair. Do you? Let me know!! Eventually, I remember what I went in for in the first place. School shoes! Oh yes, of course.

We decided to stick to the pairs we had seen on the Ecco website and we ordered our shoes online. My Daughter had already picked her favourite school shoes and I wanted some of these lovely new red soft 1 shoes I had already picked out mine online too. We needed to keep our hands free for some ice creams and treats!!

Our shoes arrived Tuesday morning, I do not know who was more excited to rip open the packaging? Me or my Daughter wanting to see our new shoes. We were so excited.

What kind of school shoes were we looking for?

Something That Fits Her Feet Nicely:

My Daughter has only just turned 12 but she has already grown out of children's shoes in most shops. This means she usually has to have ladies sized shoes that can sometimes be far too wide for a child's foot.

Not in Ecco though, these children's casual school shoes go up to a size 40 (uk7). I was really impressed with this!

Classic Style:

My Daughter is not yet a teenager so she does not want a ladies style yet, but no more a child that needs t-bar shoe anymore. These shoes are perfect for what we were after. The ballet style shoe is such a classic and timeless style. These look lovely in the box and even better on.

Quality And Comfort:

A pair that is stylish is great, we also wanted a quality pair to go the distance and be comfortable to wear all day too. These shoes are full-grain leather, they look and feel such good quality. My Daughter said they feel really soft and comfy.

Reasonably Priced:

I always say you get what you pay for. This is especially true with shoes. It is false economy to buy cheap shoes as you end up paying more in the long run. I think these shoes at £60.00 for a pair of size 6 shoes are good value. I think it is a good price for a quality pair of leather shoes like this. I can tell just by looking at these that my Daughter will get plenty of wear from them. I will do an update once school starts to see if they are as good as they seem.

I love having the children off over Summer. Lots of great family fun. Also after having three boys who all hated shopping, it is nice to have a Daughter who loves shopping as much as me!! So as I say the plan is to get all the uniform in the next week. No more last minute rushes. Well Hopefully!!!!

As a special treat. Ecco also let me pick a new pair of shoes too. How lovely of them.

How stylish are these soft 1's? I have wanted a nice red pair of flat shoes for a while now. I am loving wearing these. They are so comfy. A lovely practical, stylish and bright shoe, check, check, and check.

I have been wearing them for the last few days so I could review them properly for you and I can now tell you:

They fit like a glove and felt comfy from the moment I first put them on. They feel really good quality.

My Daughter cannot wait for her feet to grow a little bit more. She already has her eyes on them. Eek, she is only a size behind me. I better watch out.

These will be perfect over the Summer holidays when we are out walking here there and everywhere. The amount of walking we do, comfort is the name of the game. It is nice to have a touch of style to go with it too!

They come in a wide variety of colours (black, red, white, grey, navy, pink, purple) with nice soft leather uppers and are priced up at £80.00 a pair.
